Our resident sky-watcher reveals her notes in Astro-Log:  a sketch of this month's heavenly activities. As the planets dance through the celestial ballroom, the "Music of the Spheres" impacts on our entire environment, from macrocosm to microcosm. In our continual attempts to "go with the flow," checking the current cosmic pulse through Astro-Log, can help us harmonize with the moment, the Eternal Now. These effects are GLOBAL, regardless of your "sign." Obviously, the way they interact with your own personal horoscope will determine "how" you personally experience them.

~ Look at LEO! ~

As the ~tyme~warps~ continue, we are doing our best to transmit these Logs promptly, but true to its name, the Aquarian Zone runs on its own frequency and does not always coincide with ~earth~tyme~. This monthly report is usually posted by the natural solar rhythm
which occurs each time the Sun changes signs. It is meant to be a Guide, not Gospel.
Our Star-Gazer sincerely hopes that her notes are a help to you.

Last month's Astro-Log is here!

July 22 - Yesterday's tensions melt away in the sun. A day to breathe, regroup, have some fun and figure out what to do. The last campfire stories are told as the Sun sets on Cancer, and Leo sneaks in during the night. That Sagittarian Moon has been "up to something." Dare we find out what?

Here comes the Sun!

Sunrise

July 23 - You wake-up with a message; pay attention - a dream, a wrong number, an idea... it just might make some good sense! Hunches are bang-on and can help mend broken fences; be friendly. Roads are clear all weekend, in spite of the retrograde (Rx) Mercury's intermittant glitches.

July 24 - Spontaneous get-aways, side-trips and excursions can lead to amazing discoveries, synchronistic meetings and great conversation. Let your mind fly with the wind, outdoors if possible. Let bygones be bygones, and greet the new day with the spirit of renewal.

July 25 - The day begins with a sense of purpose, an early rise and a plan. The Moon has gone into Capricorn, so you may even want to leave the picnic early, to go home and get some extra chores done before "the week" begins tomorrow. Too much of a good thing can be dangerous; know when to say "enough!"

July 26 - This Moonday gets us in full swing for the Lunar Eclipse on Wednesday. Psychics, tie yourselves to a tree, and Artists, get out your brushes ~~~ the inspired Winds of Change are blowing; keep your channels free of static. Confusion, distraction and the Trickster are playing with your mind. Do not sign anything!

July 27 - If you are still exhausted from yesterday a swim and a massage might be just the ticket. Go for the Nature trail instead of the freeway. Move slowly, or pace yourself, put things in order and keep it simple.

July 28 - FULL Moon LUNAR Eclipse in Aquarius, occultingOccult: see footnote Neptune and Uranus along the way, pulling in the highest energies we know - ahem - and some that we don't. Squares to Mars and Jupiter counsel caution. Pushing the River when it is already at floodtide is usually hazardous to your health.

July 29 - A plan to do nothing is best, and then take it as it comes. Energy moves slowly as Moon squares Saturn, and Venus goes Rx (that is 5 Rx planets now). Think about the consequences of your choices, and be willing to pay the price. No rose-coloured glasses today.
Note: On Sept. 10, Venus will go Direct exactly on yesterday's eclipse point. Be clear who you are dealing with, as September will bring home the rewards.

July 30 - Pisces Moon lubricates the stiff joints and rusty gears, and work gets done easily. Understandings come of their own accord, and stamina returns. Summer seems to take hold as our solar power increases, which motivates our will.

July 31 - Moves, trips, and transfers of goods go smoothly, and hand-shakes cement the deal. You find your footing again, and new projects are being energized and nourished. Listen to your intuition, not your logic.

Aug. 1 - This space/time between eclipses is always a bit surreal, and Mercury has slipped back into Cancer, so try not to plan a rigid schedule. Aries Moon wants action and is likely to get it. Great day for sports, fun and laughter, fresh air and new friends. This could be your Lucky Day!

Aug. 2 - As Mercury slows into neutral at 29°Cancer, you remember old times, pull out the photo albums (or stock certificates), and rediscover Grandma's jewels. Excellent week for the auction, combing antique shops or even your own basement. Lucky finds, chance meetings, and old deals become new.

Aug. 3 - Don't sweat the small stuff - p.s. it's all small stuff! Communications may garble and directions get twisted, but notice the sunset as you dine on a romantic hillside, or aboard an evening cruise. Taurus Moon delivers elegant cuisine and a touch of the good life.

Aug. 4 - Last Quarter Moon in Taurus - Let the flurries die down before you dive in. Arguments and confrontations may jar the day, but surely you can find something else to do; clean the car, pull weeds, wash windows, haul garbage. Then find a nice meadow, or a hot tub.

Aug. 5 - Sweet memories and future fantasies fill the morning air. Last-minute discoveries, connections, solutions and even unexpected entertainment as Moon enters Gemini and Mercury stands still. Be sure to check the parking meter, though, and turn-off your headlights when you park. Keep an eye on purses, cosmetics and jewelry.

Aug. 6 - Necessity is the Mother of Invention - struggles prompt action, and new avenues are found. Communication improves; make hay while the sun shines, and enjoy a fun-filled evening. Visitors, friends and new experiences are everywhere.

Aug. 7 - We move into eclipse range, and this time it's a big one (Aug.11). Energies clash today; mechanical failures or knee-jerk reactions may spark power struggles. Exercise caution with vehicles and weapons; avoid extremes and dangerous situations. Warm temperatures may add to tempers flaring. Wait for tomorrow to "deal with" anything strenuous or potentially "explosive," although evening will smooth some ruffled feathers.

Aug. 8 - Cancer Moon softens the mood, loved ones rally 'round and agreements are made. Count your blessings, say Thank You, and set your compass ahead. New horizons will soon come into view. Pace yourself.

Aug. 9 - Responsibility calls. The boss wants you at work, even though you are on holidays, or family matters, accountants, lawyers or deadlines may force you to "leave the game early." Directions and communications will be surreal and hard to follow as the Moon occultsoccult: see footnote Mercury at 29°Cancer! Use your intuition, not reactionary emotions.

Aug. 10 - Leo Moon opens the day with sunshine and plans to achieve, but interruptions are expected, and overreach is possible. Caution near caves, basements and water. Stay balanced, and consciously "hold to your center" as we lean into tomorrow's eclipse; you are already feeling it. News is amazing, shocking and likely to invoke controversy, as Mercury enters Leo and Moon opposes Uranus.

Aug. 11 - 4:08 a.m. PDT     New Moon: Solar Eclipse in Leo

Visit Fred Espenak's Eclipse Homepage for mega-info.

For more of the story, see the Summer Climate Report (includes map). As the last eclipse of the millennium, this solar eclipse is bound to leave an impact we will remember. It focuses all of its attention on the Leo house in your chart, and your ability to express your true self in that area. But underlying the four Fixed signs: Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius, where the accompanying Grand Cross occurs, is the issue of values.
  • Saturn in Taurus:   Recognizing what we have that really matters to us,
  • Eclipse in Leo:   Knowing where to take the risk and "go for it,"
  • Mars in Scorpio:   Being prepared to pay the price, no matter what,
  • Uranus in Aquarius:   Receiving our residuals, from unexpected sources.*
*in other words: Universal balance in the guise of friends and the collective.

So it is time for all the players in this "game of Life" to step into position and be counted. Meditate on the Wheel of Fortune in the Tarot, for a deeper understanding of the cycles of Life which are at work. Where is your deepest commitment? Be prepared with an answer.

Aug. 12 - Virgo Moon settles the energy and order is restored, but take it easy - you may not be as grounded as you think. Opportunities may abound, but be careful not to take-on too much. Perseids meteor showers add sparkle to the evening and electrify the air; flashes of insight encourage simplicity.

Aug. 13 - All the chores get done as energy rises and help arrives to clean, sort, fix and file. Put your heart into the work, and ride the momentum, for stamina wanes after sunset. Strange meetings, voices, visions and dreams float in and out.

Aug. 14 - Libra Moon dances with the angels and sprinkles blessings, as Venus at 29°Cancer phones the whole family. Reunions, name-changes, treasure maps and even inheritances for some, make the celebrations more joyful than usual.

Aug. 15 - Yesterday's party gets even bigger as Venus goes into Leo, and new beginnings are becoming a reality. Cooperative activities succeed in more ways than planned, new friends are made, and you set foot on the Yellow Brick Road.

Aug. 16 - Expect traffic tie-ups, long lines or detours and too many people talking at once. This may mean net-server problems, busy signals or argumentative customers. Fuses are short, so take the side road by the ice cream parlor and stay cool. Scorpio Moon slips in unnoticed, but little ears may be listening.

Aug. 17 - Nighttime disturbances can rattle nerves: loud boom-boxes driving by, the cat knocking the alarm clock onto the floor, or howling winds and rolling thunder. Loss of sleep means we need to move more slowly and stay focused. Even cars may be sluggish, need repair or get a flat tire.

Aug. 18 - First Quarter Moon in Scorpio - We now realize how we have revised our relationship agenda over the last few weeks. The points of focus on the eclipse (Aug.11) now "sink in." Vows are spoken, dividends are paid and inner resolve is essential. This intense day may not close on its own, so unplug the phone if you want peace and quiet.

Aug. 19 - It worked! Sagittarian Moon crows before the rooster, and you are ready to fly. Energy returns, and conviction is almost a taste sensation. Kundalini and passions rise, and you are soaring on the arrow of Dawn. Understanding will follow insight; trust your hunches.

Aug. 20 - Happy days are here again, as the Sun rises with Venus and delivers joy, laughter and love. Social events will fill the weekend, gifts are given and news arrives. New projects are underway with grand possibilities before them.

Aug. 21 - Love notes, flowers, promises of rainbows. Gather your tools and assemble your friends; the future is being carved this very moment. Do what you love and love what you do; the rest will take care of itself. Capricorn Moon moves in by nightfall and counsels moderation in all things.

Aug. 22 - The last day of Leo is filled with activity, barn-raisings and a mixture of folks. Clans and circles overlap; we find kinship with others whom we thought were so different. The Talking Stick is passed, and we each have our say.

Aug. 23 - Sun enters Virgo, 6:15 a.m. PDT,   sidles up to the Capricorn Moon, and throws us into our work. Don't expect this tomorrow, so take advantage of the day, and finally do that thing you have been avoiding. You are bound to feel better for it.

occult To occult means to hide, as when the Moon passes between the Earth and a planet and obscures it from view temporarily. It is a conjunction (in longitude) and a parallel (in declination) at the same time, for you avid students.
